iPhone and iPad: share to JOuDigest
Two ways. The first works on every plan and takes two minutes to set up. The second runs in the background with your API key (Max).
1. Share sheet shortcut (all plans)
- Open the Shortcuts app, tap +, name it "Summarize in JOuDigest".
- Tap the info button (i) at the bottom, turn on "Show in Share Sheet", and under "Share Sheet Types" keep only URLs and Text.
- Add the action "URL" and type:
https://app.joudigest.com/?url=then tap the field and insert the variable "Shortcut Input" right after the equals sign. - Add the action "Open URLs". Done.
Use it from YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Safari or any app: Share, then "Summarize in JOuDigest". The app opens with the link prefilled, you confirm language and focus, and the item is queued. You stay signed in on the phone, no key needed.
2. Background shortcut with API key (Max)
- Create a key in Settings, Integrations.
- New shortcut, Share Sheet on (URLs), then add "Get Contents of URL":

- Add "Show Notification" with the text "Queued in JOuDigest". The summary arrives by e-mail and in the app; nothing opens on the phone.
Android
Share the link to Chrome with the JOuDigest extension, or use the app in Chrome: Share, Chrome, then paste into the box on Home. A direct share target for Android comes with the native app.
