Telegram

Connect your JOuDigest account to our Telegram bot. Finished summaries and your digests arrive as Telegram messages, and anything you send the bot is summarized like an item you add in the app. Works on every plan and uses your minutes as usual.

Connect

1. Open Settings, Notifications, Telegram and press Connect Telegram. On the web it is app.joudigest.com/settings; in the iPhone and Android app it is in Settings too.
2. On a phone, Telegram opens the chat with the JOuDigest bot. Press Start. On a computer you get a QR code: scan it with your phone's camera, or press Open Telegram if Telegram is installed on the computer. No Telegram app at hand? Send the bot the message shown below the QR code, /start followed by your code. The code is yours alone, works once and expires after 10 minutes.
3. Come back to JOuDigest. The row shows your Telegram name and two switches.

How it works

• After you connect, finished summaries and your daily or weekly digest arrive in Telegram. Send finished summaries to Telegram covers items you add yourself and channels with immediate delivery; Digest to Telegram sends the same digest as the e-mail, at the same time.
• Send the bot a link (YouTube, podcast, Spotify, X, TikTok, Vimeo, SoundCloud and more) or a voice message, an audio or a video file up to 20 MB. The summary comes back in the chat and is saved in JOuDigest. Items you send to the bot always come back there, whatever the switches say. Bigger files: share them from the JOuDigest app.
• Every summary message has an Open in JOuDigest button for the full summary, the transcript, other languages and lengths.

Commands

• /last your last 5 items with links.
• /language the summary language for new items (the same setting as in Settings), for example /language en or /language cs. Without a code it shows the current one and the list of codes.
• /stop disconnects this chat. You can also disconnect in Settings.
• /help what the bot can do.

Privacy

When you connect, summaries you choose to receive are delivered through Telegram (Telegram Messenger Inc.), so they also pass through Telegram's servers. Transcripts are never sent there. Disconnect at any time with /stop or in Settings; the bot then forgets the chat. Details in the privacy policy.
